| Summer and other seasonal changes | Announced by the Cabildo | In 2026 the Cabildo published earlier hours in summer and a later opening in September and October (see below). We cannot say what applies in 2027 |

The Cabildo does not list weekly closing days or closing dates for the cathedral on its hours page, and it says hours can change without notice for worship. Tourist visits stop during religious services. Check the official site, especially around Holy Week, the Feria, Corpus Christi and Christmas.

Book tickets and tours →The Cabildo announced different hours for 2026 in several news items: from 8 June the ticket office opened at 9:30, from 1 July to 3 August the visit ran from 9:30 to 17:00, and from 1 September to 24 October the ticket office opened at 11:00 on weekdays and on Sundays at 14:30, with visitors leaving by 19:00. The Cabildo linked the summer changes to the works on the Giralda.
We do not have a published timetable for 2027, so the standing hours are our base. Check the official hours page before you book, and look at the time of the ticket you choose: it is your entry time.
According to the Cabildo, the ticket office is at the Puerta del Príncipe, on the south arm of the transept, and visitors with an online ticket enter by the Puerta del Lagarto on the north side, from the Patio de los Naranjos. The tourist exit is the Puerta del Perdón.
The Cabildo recommends buying online: you avoid the queue at the ticket office, but capacity is limited both in the cathedral and on the Giralda, and in busy months the time slots run out.
The Cabildo's price page describes a free public visit on Sunday afternoons, according to the liturgical calendar, with limited capacity. The page says the free ticket is collected in person at the Puerta del Príncipe ticket office from 17:00, while a news item of April 2026 describes 14:30 to 18:00 and a ticket in advance from the official portal. The two do not match, so check before you plan around it.
For 2026 the Cabildo has announced that the visit is suspended on 8 December and reduced from 4 to 7 December, for an international congress of brotherhoods. We show these dates in the status box on this site.
The Cabildo estimates 75 minutes for the visit. If you want to stop at the altarpiece, the choir and the Chapter House, and climb the Giralda without hurrying, allow more: that is our own estimate, not an official figure. The roof tour and the guided tours last about 90 minutes.
