On foot from the centre

A narrow street in the Santa Cruz quarter with yellow and red walls

From the Archivo de Indias it is about 130 metres, and from the Real Alcázar about 400 metres, as the crow flies. The Church of El Salvador is about 460 metres away, the Metropol Parasol (the Setas) about 800 metres, and the Plaza de España about 1.1 to 1.2 km. The Barrio de Santa Cruz is next to the cathedral.

The online ticket entrance is on the north side, at the Puerta del Lagarto; the ticket office is at the Puerta del Príncipe. Look at the time on your ticket and give yourself some time to find the right door.

By tram, metro and bus

According to the Cabildo, the tram (Metrocentro) stops at Archivo de Indias, close to the cathedral, and metro line 1 stops at Puerta de Jerez. The Cabildo also lists Tussam city buses C4, C3, 5, 41, 42, C1 and C2, and the Cercanías station of San Bernardo. Timetables and fares change: check them with the operators.

From Santa Justa station

The station is about 1.6 to 1.8 km from the cathedral as the crow flies. On foot it takes about 30 to 40 minutes, and by city bus about 15 to 20 minutes, according to a travel source. The sources we found give different bus line numbers (27, 32 and C1 in one, 28, 32, C1 and C2 in another), so check the current lines on the Tussam website. A taxi takes about 10 to 15 minutes, per the same source, and we could not verify the fare.

From the airport

A Tussam airport bus runs to the city centre, and takes about 35 minutes according to an undated source. Fares, frequency and the stop nearest to the cathedral are not verified for 2026, so check them on the Tussam website. Our partner Tiqets also lists an airport transfer.

By car

The Cabildo lists the A-66 from the north, the A-92 from the south, the A-49 from the west and the A-4 from the east. Public car parks near the centre listed by the Cabildo are Jardines de Murillo, Puerta de Jerez, Mercado del Arenal and Plaza Nueva. We could not check prices or access rules for the historic centre: look at them before you drive in.
